SMS Text Message Program & Opt-In Policy
Last updated: August 2026. This page documents the complete opt-in workflow, call-to-action, and disclosures for the Qfire Catering text message program.
Who sends the messages
Messages are sent by Qfire Catering (operating the website TheBBQDaddy.com), a wood-fired BBQ and steakhouse event catering company owned by Chef Terry Matthews, serving the Phoenix Metro area in Arizona and San Diego County in California. Contact: Eat@QfireCatering.com or (877) 848-7211.
Who receives the messages
Only people who personally submitted our catering quote request form at https://thebbqdaddy.com/quote , entered their own mobile number, and actively checked the optional SMS consent box on that form. We never text purchased, rented, imported, or third-party lists. We never text anyone who did not check the box.
Why the messages are sent
The messages are customer care follow-ups about the recipient's own quote request: confirming we received it, letting them know their quote is on the way, and asking for the event details we need (date, guest count, venue) so we can finish pricing it. This is not a marketing or promotional program.
The exact opt-in workflow (call to action)
- A visitor goes to https://thebbqdaddy.com/quote (also reachable from the "Request a Quote" buttons on every page) and fills out the catering quote request form. The same opt-in also appears on our Steakhouse Experience menu selection form.
- The visitor enters their name, email, and — optionally — their mobile phone number, along with their event details.
- Directly above the submit button there is a checkbox that is unchecked by default. The visitor must click it themselves. Submitting the form without checking it still sends the quote request; no text messages are sent in that case.
- The checkbox label reads, word for word:
"I agree to receive text messages from Qfire Catering (TheBBQDaddy.com) about my catering quote request. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms. Consent is not a condition of purchase."
- The words "Privacy Policy" and "Terms" in that label are live links to https://thebbqdaddy.com/privacy and https://thebbqdaddy.com/terms.
- Consent is stored with the submission. Only submissions with the box checked are added to the follow-up text queue.
The quote form is public. No account, login, password, or purchase is required to view it or to see the consent language.
Sample messages
"Hi [First Name], this is Terry with Qfire Catering — thanks for your catering quote request. We're putting your quote together and will follow up within 4 hours (Mon-Fri). Reply STOP to opt out."
"Hi [First Name], Qfire Catering following up on your catering quote request. Do you have your event date and guest count yet? We can lock in pricing once we have them. Reply STOP to opt out."
Message frequency
Message frequency varies, but is limited to follow-ups about the recipient's own quote request — typically no more than two messages, plus any direct replies to a conversation the recipient starts. This is not a recurring marketing subscription.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Qfire Catering does not charge for the messages; your mobile carrier's standard rates apply.
How to opt out (STOP) and get help (HELP)
Reply STOP to any message and we stop immediately and cancel every queued message to that number. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at Eat@QfireCatering.com or (877) 848-7211. Consent is optional and is never a condition of booking, purchasing, or receiving a quote.
Mobile information sharing
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. We use a licensed messaging provider solely to deliver the messages you agreed to receive.
